The entire world is currently being hit by an unprecedented pandemic caused by a virus that can have devastating effects on our metabolism. Many go through the infection without serious symptoms, while others become seriously ill or even die. For yet another group, however, a Covid-19 infection marks the beginning of a long journey with the development of serious chronic quality of life problems that arise during or after the infection and do not seem to disappear. More and more scientific publications are devoted to this phenomenon and new terminology has emerged: long Covid syndrome. Patients suffering from long Covid, after experiencing the Covid-19 infection, are confronted with severe chronic physical discomforts such as severe disabling fatigue often associated with memory and concentration disorders and / or chronic pain syndromes. Another group with long Covid mainly has psychological complaints such as depression, anxiety and serious sleeping problems.
