Back to your former quality of life

You are recovering from chemotherapy

Over the course of chemotherapy toxic substances are administered (often intravenously) to destroy cancer cells, but these can also poison and destroy the body’s own cells. Although the cancer is beaten in most cases, the consequences for your body and wellness are extraordinary.

Return to your former quality of life

Over the long term, most of those who have recovered from cancer after chemo therapy experience radically lowered energy levels, a lack of focus, lower resistance to disease and an accelerated aging process. On top of this, the chances of developing cancer (the same cancer or a different kind) are four times higher for those who have previously had cancer than for those who have never been diagnosed with it. This points to a weaker immune system.

The good news, however, is that these consequences can be reversed and that you can return to your former quality of life through the right treatment. This is what we can achieve through the Marnes post-chemotherapy treatment plan. The Marnes treatment plan starts with an extensive case history and laboratory diagnosis, which will take place in Belgium.

The post-chemotherapy treatment plan

Medical history and laboratory diagnosis

The treatment plan will start during the intake procedure (which will take place in Belgium before admission) with an extensive case history where we take a look at what circumstances allowed the cancer to grown and why the immune system failed (lifestyle, mental balance, genetic disposition…) We will also look at the complete cancer treatment and its consequences.

During the intake procedure an extensive laboratory diagnosis will also take place. This procedure can consist of:

  • An immuno-screen to asses the state of the immune system
  • An onco-screen to look at the number of mutations, which can give an indication of the risk of relapse.
  • An assessment of the toxins that might still be in your organism
  • A look at the levels of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids (these often drop as a consequence of chemotherapy)
  • If necessary, we can map your complete genetic code.

After this intake procedure, the treatment plan at the Marnes resort can start.

The Marnes treatment plan for post-chemotherapy can include:

  • A tailor-made detox plan (can be administered intravenously)
  • An individualised anti-cancer nutritional plan
  • Administration of the right food supplements to strengthen the immune system and improve quality of life (can be intravenously)
  • An individualised personal training schedule to optimise endurance and physical health
  • The right emotional support to address the emotional shock a cancer diagnosis and treatment can carry with it.
  • Personal coaching to teach and stimulate the proper nutrition and lifestyle
  • Individualised body-oriented therapy to regain a positive image of and a good connection with the patient’s own body.

The duration of the Marnes post-chemotherapy plan can range from a minimum of two weeks to six weeks.

Four years ago I was diagnosed with acute leukemia. I underwent heavy chemotherapy and was declared ‘cancer free’ eighteen months ago, although I didn’t quite feel like my old self. I continued to feel weak and tired and I had frequent colds. My GP mentioned the post-chemotherapy treatments in Dr Aelbrecht’s centre and the results that they achieved. I decided to take a chance. During my three weeks in Marnes my body was detoxed completely and I was administered a ton of extra nutrients to strengthen my system. I met fellow survivors and it was great to be able to talk about our common experiences. We felt like we weren’t in a hospital, but in a cosy hotel where we were surrounded with the best care possible. I feel a lot stronger and better and can handle anything now. It is also great to know that my chances of a relapse are a lot smaller now.
